ADVANCED SKILLS TEACHER (AST)
POSTS IN PRIMARY SCHOOLS

Following a review by the Local Authority of the distribution of AST posts, and a consideration of the current educational priorities, there is the opportunity to fund three primary AST posts.  The LA would like to appoint a Primary Literacy, Primary Numeracy and a Primary Science post.  ASTs are outstanding classroom practitioners who spend one day a week supporting teachers in other schools.

If you would like your school to be considered for a post, please submit a brief (no more than one side of A4) expression of interest stating the focus of the post (e.g. Literacy, Numeracy or Science); how you are going to fill the post (e.g. by putting an existing member of staff through the AST accreditation process, or by advertising for an AST to fill a vacancy); who the person is if they are an existing member of staff and their relevant experience (e.g. Leading Teacher); and details of any learning networks / collaborations that your school is already part of. Please send this to me by

If you would like to discuss any aspects of this opportunity, please contact me.
