Summary

• A new nationwide award scheme promoting the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child as the basis for enhancing teaching, learning, ethos, attitudes and behaviour.
• Teaches about children's and human rights but also models rights and respect in all its relationships: teacher/adults-pupils; pupils-teachers/adults; pupils-pupils.
• Complementary to the Healthy Schools Award and Eco Schools and can be part of a programme to build a positive school ethos.
