Certificate of School Administration

This Level 3 qualification in school administration will have particular appeal to administrative staff in schools seeking to:

  • upgrade their administrative skills
  • develop career in school administration and/or business management
  • develop themselves personally
  • prepare themselves for higher level courses, such as the National College's Certificate of School Business Management

 The Programme takes approximately 6 months to complete and, during that time, participants will attend 3 one day training events, at a local venue. The programme consists of three modules: knowing your school, working with people and knowing your role.

Support staff pay body gets Royal Assent

The new negotiating bdy for school support staff pay and conditions now has the force of law.

The Apprenticeship, Skills, Children and Learning Bill establishing the School Support Staff Negotiating Body received Royal Assent on November 12th. The new body has now been established in statutory form and a new pay and conditions framework is to be agreed, which is likely to come into effect during 2010.

It is the first major new national negotiating body for thirty years and will oversee and ensure fair and equal pay alongside a robust training and career structure.
