Personalised Learning

The DFES standards site has created a new personalised learning website - www.standards.dfes.gov.uk/personalised learning. The five components of personalised learning include:

• Assessment for Learning
• Effective teaching and learning
• Curriculum entitlement and choice
• Organising the school
• Beyond the classroom

Assessment for learning is at the heart of personalised learning, where teachers use evidence and dialogue to identify where pupils are in their learning, where they need to go and how best to get there. The site provides a brief overview of the assessment for learning in practice and information about developments in assessment for learning at Primary and Secondary phases.
